Welcome to the Bermuda Sun sports blog - the island's only online forum for sports fans.
Think Limey in Bermuda but instead of arguing about politics, we'll be shooting the breeze about sports.
There's a real appetite for debate right now with the fortunes of our national cricket and football teams dominating the conversation.
Politicians, news commentators, former players, taxi drivers, the man in the street — everybody's talking sports.
This is your site and your opportunity to get involved and also to help shape the debate.
We've launched today with posts from myself, from Lionel Cann and from Fred Barritt. I'll be posting regularly on local and international sport and we'll also have regular blogs from our Sun columnists and writers.
The site is still very much a work in progress and we'd appreciate your feedback on how we can make it better.
If we are REALLY "talking Sports" then you had better expand your Category listing to include some of those OTHER sports too:
Example...
Sailing - rough count = 5+ WORLD Champions
Rugby - multiple Caribbean Champions

Wookie,
The way it works is that the sport gets added to the category section as and when we post on that subject.
We intend to post on all sports. In time that categories sidebar should fill up. But I didn't see the point in including links in the sidebar until there was something to link to.
Hopefully we'll have something on sailing, rugby and various other sports up over the next few days.

Typical. Football and cricket first and all the other sports get leftovers.

I think the thing to remember here is that most blogs speak to those passionate enough to post about them. If hockey, or the other sports that have not been alluded to yet on this forum had the depth of following that cricket and soccer do in Bermuda then they should be the front page.... shouldn't they? You can't possibly complain about equality when your sports aren't equal (on a popularity scale only). Sports like Rugby, sailing, Hockey, Netball, Racing, track and field... I could go on, all have a place in Bermuda's sporting culture, but to groan about publicity or the lack thereof on a NEW sports blog is absolutely wrong.
Earn your stripes!!!!
