From Teresa Perozzi at her New Jersey training camp
I arrived in New Jersey this week for my final ten days of training before I fight for seven world title belts in Germany. I'll try and provide regular updates throughout the next two weeks, counting down to the fight.
I had my first day of training today. Started off with a good hard run involving speed work of 30 second bursts, then onto the gym work which in total was about 20 rounds.
I feel in amazing shape (we are doing 3 min rounds and the fight will be 2 mins).
The gym is amazing and everything I could ask for is there. The ring is the perfect size to work in, with an amazing spongy canvas. I got 7 rounds of sparring in in the afternoon with a former pro boxer.
We worked on a lot of technique and in between rounds he gave me great pointers that only someone boxing against me could really give.
It gave both myself and my trainer Charlie some great help.
I've got the evening off and am just trying to relax and stay off my feet and give my son some much needed motherly attention!
I can't even explain how great it is to not have to work, clean house, cook, and be on such a strict schedule that I have been trying to juggle this past month.
Another great piece of news and financial boost for me is that although the Dept of Youth and Sport could not help me out, the Dept of Tourism has offered some financial support in return for a reasonable bit if advertising and logos on my trunks, cornerman gear and training gear.
Between MEF, Dunkley's Dairy and Tourism I will have covered 100 per cent of my training costs, loss of income and possibly even a bit to go towards the next one in a few months as they will want a rematch when I take her belts!
I plan to go down in the Guiness Book of Records as the female boxer from Bermuda who won the most world titles in a single fight (they will be there as this is history in the making).
Thanks for all the support and interest you are taking, I really appreciate it and am feeling more support from Bermuda than ever before.
Knowing Teresa, I can only imagine how fired up she is! I can only wish her the best, and let her know that I still think she was a winner Saturday night at the NDFB's "Dancing With The Stars"!!!! What an awesome performance!!!! Let's hope the judges aren't needed in her next performance... the so called "judges" definitely robbed her of a decision Saturday night!
Good luck T... bring home the belts!!!!
